Thankful Thursday

Well, I have been having (very mild) contractions for a couple of days now. This is a totally new experience for me. When I had Emma, I never felt a single contraction until they pumped as much pitocin as they could into my veins, so I really did not know what a NORMAL contraction felt like. Most of them have been just the painless tightening of the uterus, but I have had some I would describe as mildly uncomfortable. None that are painful yet. I am so thankful to be experiencing a normal pregnancy and the very, very beginnings of my body preparing to give birth to our little boy. I am thankful I still feel pretty good most of the time, and I can feel Joshua moving around so I'm pretty sure he's doing well too. God is so good!

Thankful Thursday

Today, I'm so thankful for my life and my family- for my wonderful husband who supports me and loves me always, for Emma who is so open and loving to everyone that she meets, for Ashley who tries to help us out as much as possible; for the 3 kids I babysit who not only provide a little extra income so that we can make ends meet but also provide Emma with socialization and friends.

Today I am just so grateful that God planted me right here in the middle of no where when I was so sure I didn't want to uproot my life, quit my job, and sell my house.

God knows so much better than I do, and I'm grateful for the times I have shut up and gone along for the ride.

Thankful Thursday (a little late)

I realized after midnight that I never posted my Thankful Thursday and figured I might as well wait until I was fully awake since it was going to be late anyway. So, for my "Thursday" post today...

Today I'm thankful that we had a good day (yesterday). Ashley and I butt heads sometimes, but yesterday was great. She got out of the house for a few hours with one of her counselors, but for the most part was with me all day. I'm thankful that my mama is coming to visit this weekend. And I'm so very thankful for all the hand-me-downs we have for our two little ones. This week I sorted through I think 6 tubs of baby clothes for Joshua and was able to discard those with stains or that I just plain didn't like and give them to another mom in need and still have plenty left. And I have 2 tubs of clothes for Emma that I still need to go through to do the same thing. I'm thankful that we went of visitation last night for church, and I was able to talk to a young lady who is very interested in finding a good, local, Baptist church. It makes me feel great to help people find their place in a church (and even better when that happens to be my church!) so they can find friends and a place to be involved in God's work.

Thankful Thursday

Today is one of those days. We all have 'em. But I'm having a booger of one today. Today, I'm thankful it's almost naptime. I need a little time to relax and recharge. I'm planning on spending a little time in God's word. Maybe I'll look up some verses on patience. I'm so thankful that my God speaks to me through his word to give us just what need, not only on "those" days but everyday.

Thankful Thursday

I'm going to start a "Thankful Thursday" each week. Even if no one ever reads it, it's nice to have a reminder to be have a thankful spirit.

"Give thanks unto the LORD, call upon his name, make known his deeds among the people." 1 Chronicles 16:8

"In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you." 1 Thessalonians 5:18

Today I am thankful for my family. 2 parents, 2 stepparents, a wonderful mother-in-law, and a loving husband who are always there for me. 2 beautiful girls and a baby boy growing inside me who are all well. Today I am thankful for Wayne, Jason's uncle who is suffering from cancer and not doing well, but I am thankful for the time he has left with us. I am thankful for the opportunity to car for the children of others, both a service to them and as an opportunity to earn a little more money to help pay our bills while I stay at home with Emma.
